Merry Christmas, Everybody!

I have two things I want to share with you:

  1. Merry Christmas to you all!!
  2. My mama found this music video online the other day, and I wanted to share it, especially since we adopted my sister Lindsey 3 years ago as of Monday, and because it's Christmastime:

Well, that's about all for now! Merry Christmas!!!!

Jokes of the Day

Here are some jokes for you:

Q: What did one bee say to the other bee during the summer?
-----------------------------------------------
A: It's swarm in here, isn't it?

Q: What does a tree do when it wants to go home?
-----------------------------------------------
A: Leaves.

Q: What holds the sun up in the sky?
-----------------------------------------------
A: Sunbeams.

Q: What do you get when you cross an elephant and a fish?
-----------------------------------------------
A: Swimming trunks!

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, but I'm back now!

Chick Pastels!!

Earlier this week (Monday), me and Mama did this art project from a blog that she reads and follows, and so we did these 'Three Little Chicks' pastels. It was really fun, and I want to do more of them!!

This is both of the pictures. Mama's is on the left, and mine is on the right.

And then this is a photo of just mine up close.

We have also done a chickadee in pastels, and that was really fun, too! You should try finding some pastels and putting them to use! Like I said earlier, we got ours from a blog, but you can do anything from a slice of pie, to a tornado, to a big harvest moon with a city at night (all of which I think they've done). So be creative, and see what you can find around the house or in the garden!!

Jokes of the Day

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, but here I am now with some jokes!

Q: Where do bees use the bathroom?
---------------------------------
A: At the bp station.

Q: What do you get when you cross a rhino with a blackbird?
---------------------------------
A: A lot of broken telephone poles.

Q: What happened to the man who tried to cross a lion with a goat?
---------------------------------
A: He had to get a new goat.

Q: How can you tell if your cat has eaten a duckling?
---------------------------------
A: She's got that down-in-the-mouth look.

OK, just one more:

Q: If you were surrounded by thirty lions, twenty-five elephants, and ten hippos, how would you get away from them all?
---------------------------------
A: Get off  the merry-go-round.

Well, that's all for now! I will try to post again soon, so hopefully I'll see you soon!!

Sculpey Fun!

Last year I got this clay kit, and I had it put away, but yesterday I busted it out, and did it. You can make a cat, a scottie dog, a bunny rabbit, a puppy, and a hamster. I made the cat, and it turned out really cute. Here's a picture of it:

It is actually really small, even though in the picture above it looks like it isn't. This is me holding it in my hands:

I think I'm going to do the scottie dog today or tomorrow. Probably today, though.

Well, that's about all for now, except that Sculpey is some awesome stuff, and you should try to find and do one of its projects.

Canoeing on the Chestatee!

Yesterday we went canoeing in Dahlonega, and it was AWESOME! I wish I could go every week!! And we saw a bunch of things like:

  • kingfishers
  • herons
  • minnows & carp
  • snails
  • hawks
  • turtles

And boy, there was a ton of turtles!! I couldn't even count how many there were! Most of them were fairly large, and this is what they looked like:

It was 6 miles from start to finish, and I think that was my favorite 6 miles anything ever!

We had a half-way point mark, which was a fairly large beach. We stopped for almost an hour, and then moved on. There were several small rapids, but nothing really scary. It took us almost exactly 3 hours to get from start to finish, 2 hours if you didn't stop at the beach. But it was really fun, and I hope we get to go back pretty soon.

This is the beach we stopped at with some of the canoes. (Yes, we went with a big, homeschooling group):

And this is a picture from the front of our canoe when we were about to push off from the beach:

If you ever want to go canoeing, I would highly recommend Appalachian Outfitters in Dahlonega! It is AMAZING!!

Well, that's all for now. See you later!

Robin Update

So, here's what has happened (and not happened) since I last posted:
  • We have had no other babies fall out of their nest.
  • All three babies seem healthy.
  • The baby that fell out yesterday is completely fine (we think).
But the sad thing is this -- when the babies hatched, there were four. But now, there's only three. Why? Because (this is all we think, OK?) the fourth one hatched the day after the others, and so didn't get enough food. And for a baby bird, every day counts. So basically, its the runt.

Yesterday we only saw three heads come up at food. We wondered if the fourth was dead, but we didn't know for sure. But last night, we saw the mommy robin pulling it out of the nest.

So what do I think happened?? This:

I think that, as the one baby fell out yesterday morning, it was pushing away when it that its little baby sister/brother was dead, and it went too far and fell.

What do you think happened?
