The Tale of Despereaux

Tale of Despereaux
This is the story about a mouse, a mouse named Despereaux. He was a small, oh so small mouse. This is a exciting story. In the 1st book (there are four books in one big book!), Despereaux is born, and he hears music. He follows the sound, and soon is in the Princess Pea's room. The Pea loves him, but the king can't stand mice.

The 2nd book is about a rat, {shudder} a rat named Chiaroscuro, ( that's his real name, but everybody calls him Roscuro). He is kinda nice at first, but he slowly gets meaner, and meaner, and meaner!!!!!!!! And Roscuro likes to eat mice. (If you love Despereaux, shudder again!)

The 3rd book is about a girl, a girl named Miggery Sow. But just call her Mig, OK? And Mig wants to be a princess. When Mig was 6 years old, her mother dies, then that spring her father sells her for a handful of cigarettes, a red tablecloth, and a hen. Bad, bad, bad! Then Mig is taken to the castle.

In the 4th book, the Princess Pea is taken to the dungeon, and Despereaux goes and saves her, and then everyone lives happily ever after!

Five Children and It

Last night I finished reading a book called Five Children and It. Here is a bit about it. This is what happens when they decide to dig their way to Australia to see if the people there walk upside down. They find a Psammead (pronounced Sammyadd). Its furry, it has a fat body, bat ears, and eyes that go in and out like telescopes! And it gives them wishes. And wishes that they end up not liking! Like a castle (if you read the book you'll find out why they don't like any of their wishes), wings, their baby brother being wanted, having Indians around their house, etc. (P.S. It won't be so confusing if you read the book!)

Thanks for stopping by once more!

"Anne of Green Gables"

I'm so excited that soon (not today) I'm going to be in a play! Its Anne of Green Gables! I'm so happy that Me, Mama, and Ken are all going to be in it! I'm playing Minnie Mae, Mama's Miss Stacy, and Ken's Mr. Phillips. When we watched the movie, Ken said,"Mr. Phillips sure is a wormy little guy." It is true. He's so mean!! He never ever smiles (unless to Prissy). Here is a little about the story: Anne Shirley, a 12 year old orphan girl, has never had a true home. So she's very excited when she gets one. When Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert adopt her, she's very happy. But when school begins, trouble begins, too. She's made fun of, she gets into fights and she's dared to do something and hurts herself. But, when Miss Stacy comes along, all the bad things seem to just float away. I'm just so excited!!!

I love this house, and speaking of doll's and dollhouse's, let me tell you about a book I love. Its called The Doll's House. And Tasha Tudor illustrated it! For more about her, click here. So anyway, as I was saying, in this book, there is a family of dolls, that live in a dollhouse. They are the Plantaganet family: Mr. Plantaganet, Mrs. Plantaganet (Birdie), Tottie, Apple, and Darner (the dog). Tottie, a wooden doll, Apple, a plush doll, Mrs. Plantaganet, a celluloid doll, and Mr. Plantaganet, a glass doll. Anyway, I love my dollhouse!
