A few nights ago, we went to an adoption banquet. We shared our story, and watched a video that had a whole bunch of facts about orphans and adoption, and one of the facts was there is over 163 million orphans worldwide, and if you wanted to
look at each and every one of those children for one second, it would take you over 50 years -nonstop- to look them all in the eye. Over 50 years! Is that not just plain SAD, besides being completely mind-blowing!?!?!?!
What's your thoughts on that???

Kathryn,
I agree, very, very sad.
I think that prospective adoptive parents and family certainly should be screened very carefully, but from what I have heard sometimes the adoption process can be very challenging and difficult at times. I wish that was not the case, so that perhaps more children could be adopted more quickly. What do you think?
That statistic puts the need for orphan care in such clear, and heartbreaking perspective... Praying for the day when the Lord would allow us to welcome one (or hopefully more!) of those little ones into our family! :)
Wow, that really puts it in perspective doesn't it? Yes very very sad. We need to change that statistic one child at a time.
Wow that is very mind blowing! It is sad too and inspires me to want to do something. A difference can be made on person at a time. praying about what God would have us do can't wait to hear His answer. Thanks for sharing this and your big heart. Love you!
